Handwoven pillow cover - Toads in Royal Blue

This beautiful pillow cover features the Toads Design from the ceremonial huipil of the Maya city of Yaxchilan. The Mayan consider toads to be musical creatures, with their singing they bring rain to the world. The toad sings at the mouth of the Earthlord's mountain cave. It was hand woven using a backstrap loom, a system created during the Classic Maya period.
